Ok, ok, so I am starting to get bad at posting again, but things have been crazy this week. When you wake up every morning thinking it is Friday, it makes for a really long week. As for news with us, well…yeah.

Mike is working on filling cracks in the basement floor in effort to slow down the water that we are sure will be coming in soon from all this melting snow. He has also been spending a lot of time with his buddy in crime (a.k.a. Best Man) seeing how his better half has Mono. For those of you that didn’t know, my best friend is dating Mike’s best friend and hopefully sometime in the future will join us in the land of married couples, as for right now, she is finishing school and he is teaching school.

As for me, the crafts are rolling. I am working on P.S. I Quilt’s Pin Wheel Quilt Along,  Mom and I are doing this together.  We are almost done with Block One, and then on to Block Two.  I will try to remember to put photos in the next one, right after I remember to take pictures.  I am also working on finishing my cousin’s nine patch quilt, I was shooting for last Christmas, now I am just hoping to have it done before she graduates high school, which gives me four years, she is still in 8th grade.  I am also considering trying my hand at stitching.  Ok, so it is just embroidery, but stitching sound so much more modern and fun.  Most people hear embroidery and think of geese with bonnets.

As for the house, I am putting off painting the cabinets, it will be a long drawn out mess of an experience, but I just can’t stand the look of the cabinets right now, it makes the kitchen look so dated and small.  In my personal opinion, if you have a small kitchen with only one small window, you should not do floor to ceiling dark stain wood cabinets.   I am going to repaint them a cream color, change out the old oiled brass hard ware for a more modern nickle, maybe so some antiquing to the doors, get new cordless blinds for the windows and repaint the walls with a satin finish pale yellow paint.  Hopefully that will all take place this spring or summer.

Well, hey break is over, I need to get back to work.  I am so glad it is actually Friday today.  Take care you all and keep on smiling.

So far today is going well, I guess you could even say it is a good day. I feel like I have accomplished a lot. I did have a little cry though, I’m talking one or two tears. I heard a song that made me think of Kara. For those of you that don’t know, she was my best friend, she was like a sister, and she did almost four years ago (this July). I’m not as upset or depressed as I was a couple of years ago. I still get sad from time to time, you know, I hear a song, or I think of something that I would want to share with her. Kind of like when Mike and I got engaged. I had promised her that she would be the first I would call, and I was so excited at the time I grabbed my phone and almost tried to call her. It is sometimes easy to forget she is gone. She was my best friend, we were really close, but we did sometimes go a month or so between hang outs and stuff, we were both busy with nursing school and all. I really do miss her, but I also know she is in an amazing place right now and that I will see her again. I hope it is a long time too, it’s not like I have a death wish, but on the other hand, I miss doing stuff with her. I miss girls days out, getting manicures, shopping, seeing movies, getting ice cream, shopping, talking…you get the picture. I guess I just needed a moment to think of her and be a little sad, followed by happiness. I’m happy that I knew her, happy I got to spend time with her and grateful she was in my life, even if it was for a short time.

Another Monday, Another Week.  Can you feel the excitement?  Neither can I.  I was up most of the night coughing, which of course keep Mike up most of the night too.  We are off to a great start.  I think the only one that sleep well for once was the dog, and of course he is at home right now, probably sleeping some more.

I must say though, there are a few things this week I am looking forward to.  My mom and I are working on our first blocks for P.S. I Quilt’s Pinwheel Sampler Quilt Along.  I have my fabric, which my husband picked out, but I am thinking of changing it.  I will post a picture later to get your opinion.  He picked out brown, blue and green (of course).  My milk chocolate brown, aqua and sorbet orange got shot down; he doesn’t like the color orange.  Of course my shades of blue and red got shot down, along with the dark brown, lime kind of green and dark purple.  Hey, if anyone reading this has any ideas for color combination, please leave a comment below.

Well, I know this is a short one, for me, but I need to get back to work, lunch is over.  Anyways, take care and thank you for reading.

Ok, so my husband is awesome. I have been wanting to get this blog really up to date and get photos and what not put on here so friends and family can see them. (I know, I know, it has taken me forever, but you all know me and know I have to do thing my way in my own time.) Well, it is finally getting there. I am working on editing some of the wedding photos so they are formatted correctly and what not. Well, the other night I went to go put the pre-wedding activities and honeymoon cave trip on my computer so I can work on them, and my luck struck again. The card was blank. The thing is, I couldn’t of saved them on a different card, I only have one card. We think it got wiped when the battery died in the middle of me using in, lesson learned. Well, after about an hour or so, Mike managed to recover all the pictures and then some (as in old pictures I thought I had deleted.) So, that is why my husband is awesome, well that and he and my dad managed to get all the insulation in the attic with out have to have me get on a ladder.

Yep you read that right, we have insulation. That had to be one of the best Valentine’s presents ever. I know that sounds weird, but it is a lot, seeing how last year at this time my gas bill, for heat, was about $400. That is like two car payments for me. I am just happy that we can now put that money we would have been spending on the gas bill to paying off other things, like student loans. I so can’t wait to be out of debt. Can you imagine not having to make a car payment each month and saving that money up so you can walk into a car dealer and say I want that one, at this price, I have cash. Pay in full up front and drive off the lot. I can’t wait. My dream would be to have enough cash to get a Volvo, or a VW, you know, something really safe and reliably that will last a long time. Of course in reality it will probably be a Honda, Ford or something along those lines. Something that can handle the winters in the county, when most road don’t get plowed.

Sorry, I think I did it again, start out on one topic and go totally ADD and end up on a totally random topic that has nothing to do with the first topic. I think I was talking about my husband and ended up on cars. Yeah, that is a pretty weird subject jump.

By the way, Heather if you are reading this, yes there will be pictures up soon. Heather is my sort-of-big-sister. My parents like to say they adopted her, (in other words very close family friend.) She couldn’t make it up for the wedding, and we missed her a lot, but we started this blog in hopes of keeping her and other up to date, which we have done a really bad job of.

Man, once again, off subject. My husband, my husband, my husband. Ok, maybe I can stay on topic now (not likely). Mike right now is driving to Ohio to drop off a weekly order of tops. He is on I-70 driving 45 (for those of you who don’t know, most people end up going any where from 65 to 80 on I-70 most of the time). In other words we are getting more snow. He said we are suppose to get either 1″-4″ (in addition to what we already have) or 4″-6″ (also in addition to what we have.) (Any yes Heather I will send you pictures of the snow.)

Here is a little random fact he told me yesterday. If Hawaii gets snow soon, there will be snow in all 50 states at the same time. How cool is that! Well, I think that is enough about snow and my awesome husband for now, I should get back to work.
