Well, let’s see, it has been a while since either of us have posted, and it looks like I do most of the posting. Hmmmm. Anyways, since the last time I posted, I got “The Blue Screen of Death” on my laptop and lost all of the wedding stuff I had saved. The funny thing was, I was in the middle of backing things up when it happened. The photographer we were going to work with moved to L.A., but she recommended a great couple that does photography that we are going to work with. Work has been…work. We picked out bridesmaid dresses. Found out my (sort of) big sister is pregnant again. So the flower girl and ring bearer will have a little brother or sister by the time the wedding comes around. We found out the pork festival will be the same week as the wedding and I think that is about it.

I think it is funny, most of my friend I have spoken to said the whole planning processes felt like a massive rush, like they were rushing to get everything done. Me, I am finding my self sitting here planning six steps ahead wondering when I can move on to the next thing. We have the band for the reception, we have someone to play piano at the wedding. We have a photographer. We are meeting with the coordinator at the reception location, which they take care of food, rental, cake and all that fun stuff. I have a dress. We need to get tuxes, but that is waiting till my brother is on Spring break from college. I think the major things are taken care of. So, that is my quick update for the day. Take care.

Ok, so I know it has been awhile since I have posted anything on here about what is going on.  Things have been a little crazy over the past few months and not because of wedding stuff.  Unfortunately I was sick for almost two months with one thing after another, and now I am fighting my body on sleep.  I can’t seem to get enough sleep, but that is a different blog altogether.  If you are here you want to hear about the wedding plans and not my personal life, that right now wedding plans are my personal life.  Well, toward the end of November I found my dress.  Unfortunately we were so caught up in how I looked in the dress we didn’t really take a whole lot of pictures, not that I would put them up here if we did, because I don’t want Mike seeing the dress.  I will be the first one in the country to have this dress, it hasn’t even been shown on a runway yet.  I was so excited to have the chance to try the dress on and to be able to afford it for my wedding.  I will admit, it is not what I always dreamed my dress would look like, but the dress I thought I would love looked terrible on me, and the one I got looks perfect for me.  It has just enough sparkle to it, but not so much that I will just want to stand in front of a mirror so I can see the sparkles.

In other news we have finalized the guest list for the most part, I hope.  We have picked out the invitations.  And I am working on lay out for the reception.  We have almost finished registering, which I am very excited about.  This past Saturday we picked out our dinnerware at Macy’s.  It is from the brand Mikasa and is the Cocoa Blossom pattern.  I love it.  We both saw it and said “that is the one.”  The accent pieces, platters, and other additional pieces have a beautiful flower patter that alternates between four different flowers.  The plates have shades of a rich brown on them with a snow white base color.  They are perfect for me, because they aren’t too matchie, matchie and I can mix them with other pieces and if done right it will look wonderful. We also picked out a few crystal pieces, such as vases, bowls and that kind of stuff, just so we can say we registered for crystal.  Mike went crazy with the kitchen-aid stuff, which is funny seeing how I am the baker and he mainly grills and cook on the stove from time to time, nothing really that needs a mixer.

We are also now on the hunt again for a photographer.  Unfortunately the young woman we were planning on working with wouldn’t return a sing email and I didn’t have her phone number, so now we are on the hunt again.  If anyone knows of a great or good photographer in the Indy area, let me know.  I am also on the hunt for the perfect bridesmaid dress.  The ones I originally had picked out would have been great, if I had gone with the dress I originally thought I would like, but now that I have pick something totally different for me, the bridesmaid dresses won’t work.  I was originally thinking of going with something the girls could wear again, but the more I look at dress the more I find I am leaning toward the dressier kind of bridesmaid dress, the kind that looks more like an evening gown or a cocktail dress.  So we will see what I pick.  I am still hoping it will work out so Mike can wear his black leather Chuck’s I bought him for Christmas a while back and he has barely worn.  He did the whole “I wish I had a pair of leather Chuck’s.  I wish I could find some leather Chuck’s.”  So I found some leather Chuck’s for him and since them he has barely worn them, I don’t even know if he knows where they are right now.  Any who, I think that is about it.  Nothing really exciting or life changing, but we are moving along.  And like I said before, if any of you know of a good photographer in the Indy area, let me know.  Thanks.
